Voices of History
Experience a few of the many different lifestyles found in early America and compare to life today. Listen to the stories of daily life from the perspective of a wealthy landowner, an enslaved individual, the average farmer, and a Native American.

- Discover how food was prepared and clothing was produced with live cooking, spinning, and weaving demonstrations.
- Explore the home of Dr. Cabell and use historical clues to gain knowledge and understanding of daily life in early America.
- Study local history using primary and secondary source documents to gain knowledge of the people and places that shaped the City of Lynchburg.
- Increase understanding of events and life in the United States by comparing and contrasting the past with the present.
