The bequest of retired Lynchburg school teacher, Katharine Garland Diggs, to create a museum that preserves "the customs and ways of life of the city" have enabled the restoration of Point of Honor. The Lynchburg Historical Foundation, the Diggs Trust, the Garden Club of Virginia and the City of Lynchburg pooled their resources and today her vision has been fully realized. Point of Honor’s interpretive tours and innovative programs bring the region’s rich heritage to life for the enjoyment and education of thousands of visitors every year.
